Champions Against Bullying, an international organization, is committed to creating a society where every child has the opportunity to develop, learn and thrive in an environment without fear, without violence and without hesitation. Founder, Alexandra Penn, has been advocating for children since she began her career as a counselor at the Toronto Board of Education. Her breakthrough work with an autistic child there inspired a training video used as a teaching tool, at the world–renowned Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Canada’s largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital and learning research centre in this field. She contributed to the Canada’s Safe Schools Task Force and is a founding member of the Toronto Coalition for Bullying Awareness and Prevention. Crisis Intervention Specialist, Workplace Safety Consultant and an Internationally Certified Trainer in Youth Violence Prevention, Alex leads workshops for kids, parents and educators and responds to speaking engagements and keynote requests throughout North America. She co-created an interactive resource The No-Nonsense Guide To Kids’ Bullying Solutions that earned Disney’s Parent-to- Parent Award and co-authored There’s A Bully In My Belly, a bullying prevention story and corresponding guide for pre school and early childhood audiences - in press shortly.
